The SSD-Z tool works with a variety of devices: SSD, HDD, optical drives, removable storage devices. As its name points out, it is meant to be used with SSD devices. And more to the point, it is meant to help you access lots of useful information about your SSD.

You don’t have to complete an installation procedure to get started with SSD-Z. You will have to download an archive, extract its contents, and run an executable. Obviously, the fact that SSD-Z does not have to be installed means that it is portable.

Launch SSD-Z and it will gather information about your SSD. Said information will be displayed on SSD-Z’s interface, conveniently grouped into several sections. Or to put it other words, SSD-Z has a tabbed interface and each tab displays part of the information SSD-Z collected.

And SSD-Z collects lots of information: device name, firmware, serial number, temperature, capacity, S.M.A.R.T. data, partition information, and more. On top of collecting information, SSD-Z can run three types of tests: Benchmark, Transfer Rate, Random Access Times.

SSD-Z is free software. If you find it useful, consider making a donation. If you plan to use it commercially, please make a donation.

SSD-Z is a wonderfully simple tool that collects and conveniently presents information about solid state drives (SSD), hard disk drives (HDD), optical drives, and removable storage devices.

Pros

SSD-Z does not have to be installed. The SSD-Z ReadMe text file contains useful information about using SSD-Z. The tabbed interface is very easy to navigate. SSD-Z supports several types of storage devices: SSD, HDD, optical drives, removable storage devices. SSD-Z collects information about your SSD, HDD, optical, or removable storage devices. SSD-Z can run benchmark tests. SSD-Z is free software (consider making a donation if you find this tool useful).

Cons

None that I could think of.
